Visit the David Rumsey Map Collection to view a very large selection of historic Indiana maps. Search by keyword, or state. Of particular interest, if you search by keywords "Indiana 1846" you will find a map of Indiana prepared by Samuel Mitchell. This map shows Richardville County, and not Howard County. Richardville County was the original county name, named after Jean Baptiste de Richardville. The county name was changed in 1848.
